dear diary,

Somebody told me i had to watch this film because it’s, well, cute. But i wasnt sure seeing as it revolves around giggly 14-year-olds chasing after boys. Like, who does that anymore? I did, anyways, watch ‘Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging’ at 6am and it was BEYOND cute! I was already happy to discover that it was a British film – because of course it meant listening to their adorable accent for a whole hour and a half. Not to mention, the obvious – the men. Aaron Johnson is 18, which makes me a grandmother.

He’s adorable, nonetheless :)

p/s: Sean Bourke is gay, right? Or he wont be taking pictures like this.

you don’t matter enough

dear diary,

I saw ‘The Reader’ last night – at first thinking this has got to be another sappy drama with more of Winslet’s bare chest in them. But it only started to get rather intriguing half way through the flick. I guess there is something about younger men I cant quite put into words – although, seeing someone half your age is a tad ridiculous. I love the misunderstood – I love how when you see life from their point of view it simply makes sense. Anyhow, I didn’t cry watching this because I think this two made a choice to somehow be miserable. And there wasn’t enough to really understand Hanna’s character any deeper. One thing stood out and stuck to me tho – which was when Hanna gets clearly upset but says ‘You don’t matter enough to upset me’.

Well said.

revolutionary road

dear diary,

it’s 5.19 am and i am an insomniac. it’s nothing new really, sneaking on the laptop in the dark in the wee hours has been my thing since i was, like, 14? Wow, talk about kicking off an old habit – which should also explain why i’m never awake in class. Yet another night where i find it hard to switch my thoughts off so i decided to watch Revolutionary Road. Yup, i was one of those 16-year old girls then who cried when Jack died 10 years ago. I’ve always loved Kate Winslet’s acting and althought i’m not such a huge fan (not anymore at least) of Dicaprio’s baby face, he is quite an actor. He cries a lot too, doesnt he? So, yeah, the movie wasnt too bad. Not one I would remember in the next 2 months but i like melancholic dramas once in awhile. Kate said something like “I’ve always envisioned us to be special and to mean something in this world – and i can’t stop seeing it.” Such a simple story, really, and well directed but Kate’s husband, Sam Mendes. Been keen on the much talked about love scenes but they weren’t all that raunchy – nice publicity stunt you guys, worked on me. If you’re gonna watch this, be aware that this is no feel-good movie.

slumdog millionaire

Okay, i was already planning on watching ‘Slumdog Millionaire‘ before they got all famous-y and things. But, after reading so much about them today i thought i had to watch it sooner. Usually, the movies that tend to win awards are the shittiest of them all – but i have to say this one was an exception. the opening line already got me intrigued – ‘How did Jamal Malik become a millionaire?… is he a) lucky b) a cheat c) a genius d) it is written’. I have always loved indian movies, or movies made in india, or those with indian actors/actresses in them. They are so effortlessly beautiful. even the slummest of slums are beautiful to look at, somehow. In ways that they say so much – you get pulled in and want to know the story behind them all. The life story of Jamal Malik is really about a boy who follows his heart; because he wasnt given many choices in life. Most of us, on the other hand, are spoilt for choice. And then we complain and whine over not being able to choose. Hmm, sounds like me.

Lovely movie – and Dev Patel, you have given Shah Rukh Khan a kick in the ass. Ahh! change is good :)

penelope

if it isnt already obvious tht ive bn putting away precious time to watch all the mcavoy movies i can get a hold of… *sigh* and every single watch makes me want him so much more… for crying out loud!

he is so painfully charming.

grabs knife.

stabs heart.

and so ive confirmed it. he has his way with the kissing scenes. its CUH-RAY-ZEE. i’ve seen it so many times… the look he has on his face just before it happens… and you just never really know if it’s coming… and then it comes in the most unpredictable way. The way he grabs the girl and make ME go weak in the knees… and i get caught in the moment. so caught up it h-u-r-t-s

stabs heart harder.

bleeds to death.

my villain my hero

it’s not everyday i watch a movie and decide to support the villain. only hotties like matthew fox has the power to make those days happen.

‘vantage point’ is what im talking about .. a movie which without me drooling over fox in a sharp *drool* black *drool* suit *more drool* would just be another movie where the POTUS never cease to prevail. zzz.

So i got back home, having not had enough of him, clearly, and found a speech he made at his uni in 007…the kind of speech i wish was given to me when i graduated. brilliant, jack, brilliant. and i love you, for looking so good, it kinda hurts.

i also found a short student movie he did from back then, which was cute and the girl at the end turned out to be his wife! and he already has kids, which i didnt already know. *and kinda wish i hadnt found that out, dammit*
